Tata Motors Launches ‘Sierra’ with Segment-First Triple-Screen Dashboard

The revival of the ‘Sierra’ introduces a compact SUV that blends retro-inspired styling with advanced cabin technology previously unseen in its class. Priced from Rs 11.50 lakh ex-showroom, the model targets buyers seeking premium features without escalating costs. Its debut marks Tata’s push to reclaim market share in the sub-four-meter segment through innovative engineering.

The ‘Sierra’ lineup spans seven variants, from base Pure to top Accomplished Plus, all built on the Alpha platform with front-wheel drive. Engine options include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel, paired with manual or dual-clutch automatic transmissions. Ground clearance stands at 205 mm, with approach and departure angles of 23 and 30 degrees respectively. Boot space measures 430 litres, expandable via 60:40 split-folding rear seats.

Cabin highlights center on a panoramic display setup exclusive to the Accomplished Plus trim. This comprises a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster flanked by dual 12.3-inch touchscreens for the driver and co-passenger. The system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, integrated with a 12-speaker JBL audio setup featuring Dolby Atmos and a soundbar in higher variants. Extendable sun visors cover front occupants, while rear seats gain ventilated cushions from the Adventure Plus spec.

Safety equipment includes six airbags across all trims, electronic stability control, and hill-hold assist. Mid-spec Adventure variants and above add a blind spot monitor using forward- and rear-facing cameras to project hazards on the central screen. Frequency dependent dampers adjust suspension firmness for varied road conditions, starting from Adventure Plus. A 360-degree camera and tyre pressure monitoring system complete the suite in top trims.

Bookings open December 16, with deliveries commencing January 2026. The ‘Sierra’ measures 3995 mm in length, 1850 mm wide, and 1668 mm tall, positioning it against rivals like the Hyundai ‘Venue’ and Kia ‘Sonet’. Tata emphasizes its structural rigidity, rated for five-star Global NCAP impact protection based on shared platform testing. Fuel efficiency figures await official certification, but the diesel variant promises over 20 kmpl in highway cycles. This launch coincides with Tata’s broader portfolio refresh, including upcoming hybrid integrations.
