Dodge Introduces Gas-Powered ‘Charger’ Scat Pack with 550-Horsepower Inline-Six
The all-new ‘Charger’ Scat Pack revives internal combustion muscle in a platform shared with its electric sibling, the ‘Daytona’. Twin-turbochargers deliver 550 horsepower through a high-output 3.0-liter inline-six engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive enhances traction while retaining rear-wheel capability for traditional driving dynamics.
The Hurricane engine generates 531 pound-feet of torque, with 88% available at 2,500 rpm and over 90% from 3,000 to 6,000 rpm. Dodge engineers incorporated counter-rotating Garrett turbos to achieve up to 30 psi of boost, minimizing turbo lag in the 3,875-pound two-door liftback. A mechanical limited-slip differential, Brembo six-piston front calipers, and five drive modes including launch control and line lock support track-ready performance.
Acceleration benchmarks include 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and a quarter-mile in 12.2 seconds. Fuel economy estimates hover at 14-15 mpg combined, reflecting the powertrain’s efficiency focus amid shifting industry demands. Rear-wheel drive mode enables drifts and burnouts, with switchable all-wheel distribution for varied conditions.
Exterior updates feature a new front fascia with expanded cooling ducts, a taller hood sans R-Wing pass-through, and a revised rear with dual exhaust tips. Debossed ‘Charger’ lettering adorns the bumpers, distinguishing it from the ‘Daytona’ variant. Both two- and four-door liftback bodies offer 22.8 cubic feet of cargo space with seats up, expanding to 37.4 cubic feet folded, sufficient for four tires.
Interior refinements include premium suede and real carbon fiber accents, soft-touch surfaces, and a widescreen infotainment display. Rear seating accommodates passengers up to 6-foot-2 inches behind a similarly sized driver, with minimal road noise isolation. Equipment mirrors the electric model, swapping ‘Daytona’ badges for ‘Charger’ script.
Pricing starts at $54,995 for the two-door Scat Pack, rising to $56,995 for four doors, plus a $1,995 destination charge. Fully optioned testers reached $69,355 with packages enhancing audio, safety, and aesthetics. Orders open immediately, with two-door deliveries commencing December 2025 and four-door units in the first quarter of 2026.
The inline-six powertrain contrasts the ‘Daytona’ Scat Pack EV’s 670 horsepower from dual electric motors, starting at $59,995. Against the Ford ‘Mustang’ GT Premium’s 480-horsepower V8 at $53,075, the ‘Charger’ provides superior rear space and liftback utility. No V8 or manual transmission options appear in initial specifications, though future expansions remain possible.
Buyers receive one day at Radford Racing School for advanced driving instruction. The model’s return to gas addresses demand for non-electrified performance, broadening appeal in a segment projected to see 16 million U.S. sales in 2025. Shared architecture streamlines production while preserving Dodge’s heritage of high-output sedans and coupes.
