Petit Forestier Integrates 275 IVECO eDaily Vans into Refrigerated Fleet
What if refrigerated transport could operate silently in urban zones while maintaining full payload capacity and eliminating tailpipe emissions? Petit Forestier Group has incorporated 275 IVECO eDaily fully electric light commercial vehicles into its rental fleet. These vehicles target French and European branches for immediate deployment. The integration stems from a prior agreement with IVECO for 2,000 chassis cabs equipped with specialized refrigerated bodies.
The IVECO eDaily mirrors the conventional Daily model’s robustness, reliability, and versatility. It delivers a real-world range of up to 150 kilometers when fully loaded, accounting for refrigeration energy demands. Power output reaches 140 kilowatts, equivalent to 190 horsepower, paired with 400 Newton-meters of torque. A Hi-Power function provides temporary boosts for demanding conditions.
Operators can select driving modes to prioritize power delivery or energy efficiency. The One-Pedal Drive system captures kinetic energy during deceleration to recharge batteries, thereby reducing overall energy consumption and extending brake component lifespan. An electric power take-off, or ePTO, directly powers the refrigeration unit and enables vehicle recharging from external electric networks. This feature distinguishes the eDaily in the electric vehicle segment for specialized applications.
The refrigerated bodies, produced by Lecapitaine, feature the URBAN design with lightweight, eco-friendly insulation materials. Optimized aerodynamics minimize drag and enhance efficiency during operation. A dedicated charging cable allows connection to industrial sockets, supporting fast charging rates up to 22 kilowatts. These technical enhancements ensure the vehicles meet stringent urban delivery requirements without compromising performance.
Yann Leriche, Director of Assets & Supply at Petit Forestier Group, emphasized the strategic intent: “To meet environmental challenges, our goal is to provide our customers with the means to operate lower-emission assets. That’s why we actively support them in the decarbonisation of their fleets. The arrival of the eDaily marks an important milestone in the long-standing partnership between Petit Forestier Group and IVECO, with whom we share a deep commitment to sustainable development and the energy transition. Our fleet of electric vehicles enables our customers to reduce their environmental impact integrating seamlessly into urban environments where silence is a value.”
John Venstra, Head of International Key Accounts at IVECO, highlighted the vehicle’s capabilities: “The eDaily proves that zero-emission mobility can deliver performance, reliability, and versatility — even for demanding refrigeration applications. We are proud to strengthen our partnership with Petit Forestier Group, a company that shares our vision of sustainable innovation and to helping customers in a practical energy transition.”
This fleet expansion positions Petit Forestier as a frontrunner in providing zero-emission refrigerated rentals across Europe. The eDaily’s modular battery setup allows for scalable range adjustments based on operational needs. Integration of advanced telematics supports real-time monitoring of energy usage and vehicle status. Such deployments demonstrate scalable solutions for logistics firms transitioning from internal combustion engines.
