Porsche Design Unveils A 400,000 Euro MicroLED Screen That Rises From The Floor

When most people hear the name Porsche, they immediately picture high-performance sports cars or luxury SUVs speeding down the Autobahn. However, the German brand has a long history of lending its industrial design expertise to products far removed from the automotive world. In a collaboration that redefines home entertainment, Porsche Design has partnered with the Austrian electronics company C-Seed to create a viewing experience that costs as much as two brand-new Porsche 911 Carreras. This latest creation is not a vehicle, but a massive MicroLED television that hides underground when not in use. It is designed for the ultra-wealthy who demand that their electronics serve as kinetic art pieces rather than just functional appliances.

The engineering behind this device transforms a standard living room or terrace into a scene straight out of ‘Star Trek’ or other futuristic science fiction movies. Unlike traditional televisions that mount on a wall or sit on a cabinet, this unit is stored completely out of sight beneath the floorboards. With the push of a button, a sleek metal column silently rises from the ground like a mysterious technological monolith. Once it reaches its full height, the column mechanically unfolds into five or seven distinct panels that lock together seamlessly to form a massive screen. This transformation process is entirely robotic and takes less than a minute to complete.

Technologically, the display utilizes advanced MicroLED panels which offer superior brightness and contrast compared to standard consumer electronics. The screen delivers around 1000 nits of brightness, ensuring the image remains vivid even in direct sunlight or bright outdoor environments. The product line includes the M1 version for indoor spaces and the N1 model specifically engineered for outdoor use. These screens are available in staggering sizes ranging from 103 inches up to a colossal 221 inches for the largest indoor configuration. The outdoor variants are built to withstand the elements, featuring weatherproofing and wind resistance that allows them to function by the pool or in a garden.

The audio experience has been integrated directly into the frame to maintain the minimalist aesthetic that Porsche Design is famous for. High-performance speakers are built into the structure, eliminating the need for external soundbars or visible wiring that might clutter the view. There is even a specialized version designed for superyachts, bringing a cinema-quality experience to the open ocean. C-Seed has effectively positioned this product as the “Bugatti of televisions,” targeting a demographic where price is secondary to exclusivity and spectacle.

With a starting price of approximately 400,000 euros, this system costs significantly more than the average home. That figure does not even include the necessary architectural work to reinforce the floor or install the hydraulic lift mechanisms required to house the unit. For the target audience, however, the ability to make a giant screen vanish into the floor is the ultimate status symbol. It turns television watching into a theatrical event before the movie even begins.

Let us know in the comments if you would ever spend this much money on a TV or if you prefer a traditional home cinema setup.
