Ferrari Unveils the Interior of Its First Electric Model Called Luce
Ferrari is making a bold entrance into the electric vehicle world with its upcoming model named Luce. This car marks the brand’s first fully electric offering, and the company has just shared details about its cabin design. What stands out right away is the focus on tactile experiences rather than relying solely on touchscreens. The interior blends modern technology with classic mechanical elements to create a driving ritual that feels engaging and emotional.
The design team at LoveFrom studio, led by former Apple designer Jony Ive, played a key role in shaping this space. Interestingly, Ive pushed for physical buttons and switches, preserving that satisfying mechanical feedback Ferrari enthusiasts love. Engineers and test drivers refined these controls through more than twenty versions to achieve perfect resistance and sound. They even compare the feel to the precision of a rifle bolt, emphasizing how the car invites you to touch and interact with it.
At the heart of the experience is a steering wheel drawn from Ferrari’s 1960s racing heritage. It features three slim spokes with exposed aluminum and includes nineteen precisely machined parts for reduced weight. This wheel packs plenty of physical controls, keeping drive and chassis settings easy to access without digging through menus. It delivers a direct, hands-on connection that sets it apart from many modern vehicles.
The instrument cluster adds another layer of ingenuity, developed in partnership with Samsung Display. Two ultra-thin overlapping OLED screens create a depth effect that mimics traditional gauges. Ferrari went further by adding a real physical needle that sweeps over the digital display for extra drama. Right in the central touchscreen, which avoids dominating the layout, sits an actual analog clock integrated into the interface as a nod to classic designs.
Starting the Luce turns into a special moment thanks to a large glass key you insert into the console. This triggers a sequence of lights and system activation, bringing back emotion after feedback on previous models like the SF90. Overhead, an aviation-inspired launch lever lets you pull it down for takeoff, offering clear tactile feedback. Mechanical toggles below the screen handle climate and other essentials, keeping everything intuitive.
Hints of performance appear on the gauges, showing a scale up to about 199 miles per hour. The full exterior and technical specs, including power details, are set for a reveal in May. This approach shows Ferrari aiming to deliver excitement in an electric package without losing its soul. Fans are already buzzing about how Luce will blend silence with thrill.
