Skoda Reveals Almost All Details About the New Epiq, the SUV Sibling of the New Polo
Skoda has just shared a big update on its upcoming electric model, the Epiq, through official photos of camouflaged prototypes and a wealth of technical information. This compact urban crossover positions itself as an affordable electric SUV that shares its underpinnings with future models like the Volkswagen ID.Polo and Cupra Raval. It plays a key role in expanding Skoda’s electric vehicle lineup while keeping practicality and value at the forefront. Enthusiasts are already excited about how it brings modern EV technology to a more accessible price point.
Built on the advanced MEB+ platform, the Epiq emphasizes efficiency with front-wheel drive and a lighter overall design compared to larger siblings like the Enyaq and Elroq. Its dimensions measure about 164 inches long, 71 inches wide, and 64 inches tall, making it very similar in size to the current gasoline-powered Kamiq. Thanks to the electric architecture, it offers impressive interior space with a wheelbase around 102 inches. The trunk provides 475 liters of cargo room, expanding to 1,344 liters with the rear seats folded, which beats many competitors in the segment.

Design-wise, the Epiq marks the first production Skoda to fully embrace the brand’s Modern Solid styling language. Standout features include distinctive T-shaped lighting signatures at both ends, which will become a hallmark for future electric Skodas. Aerodynamics play a big part too, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.275 through active shutters and optimized shapes. Wheel sizes range from 17 to 19 inches, helping balance style and efficiency.

Inside, Skoda keeps things simple yet modern with a 5.3-inch digital driver display and a large 13-inch central infotainment screen. Sustainability shines through with seat upholstery made entirely from recycled polyester in materials like Techton or Suedia, depending on the trim. Buyers can choose from three Design Selection packages to personalize the cabin. Overall, the interior focuses on user-friendly controls and eco-conscious choices without sacrificing comfort.

Power options come in three flavors to suit different needs. The entry-level Epiq 35 delivers 116 horsepower, followed by the Epiq 40 with 135 horsepower, and the top Epiq 55 offering 211 horsepower. Weaker variants use a 38.5 kWh LFP battery, while the strongest gets a 55 kWh NMC pack for better performance. Real-world range reaches up to about 267 miles on the WLTP cycle, and fast charging gets the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just over 20 minutes on the most capable version.

Safety features borrow from higher-end models, including Travel Assist 3.0 that bundles adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, and even traffic sign recognition. Options like surround-view cameras and a central airbag add extra protection. These systems make the Epiq feel premium despite its positioning as an entry-level electric SUV.
Pricing looks promising, with estimates around $28,000 in major European markets like Germany, positioning it as one of the most budget-friendly electric SUVs available. The full unveiling hasn’t been dated yet, but it could happen soon given the detailed previews already out. This model seems poised to make electric driving more approachable for everyday buyers seeking space, tech, and efficiency in a compact package.
