Alpina Presents First Model After BMW Takeover: The Exclusive XB7 Manufaktur
Alpina has unveiled its inaugural creation since becoming fully integrated into the BMW Group earlier this year. This special edition, known as the BMW Alpina XB7 Manufaktur, serves as a fitting farewell to the long-running XB7 lineup. Limited to just 120 units worldwide, the model is reserved exclusively for buyers in the United States and Canada. Production occurs at BMW’s Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, the same facility responsible for other large luxury SUVs.
The heart of this SUV remains the proven 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. It generates 640 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, channeled through an eight-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels. Acceleration from zero to 62 miles per hour takes 4.2 seconds, while the top speed reaches impressive levels thanks to refined aerodynamics and chassis tuning. Features like adjustable air suspension, all-wheel steering, and reinforced rear axle components help deliver surprising agility for a vehicle approaching 16 feet in length.

Exterior enhancements keep things understated yet distinctive for enthusiasts. Only two matte finishes are offered, Frozen Alpina Green and Frozen Alpina Blue, complemented by high-gloss black Shadowline trim. The signature 23-inch forged wheels feature a 20-spoke design, and subtle side stripes in black add a touch of elegance. A dedicated Manufaktur badge graces the rear, signaling this model’s unique status within the Alpina heritage.

Inside the cabin, luxury takes center stage with full Tartufo Merino leather upholstery throughout. Walnut Nature Black wood accents provide a warm contrast, while embroidered Alpina logos adorn the seatbacks. Each example includes a numbered plaque highlighting its place in the limited run of 120. The rear prioritizes comfort with two individual captain’s chairs instead of a bench seat, creating a serene space ideal for extended journeys. Handcrafted leather travel bags come standard with every purchase.

Pricing begins at around $180,000 in the US, with an additional delivery fee of about $1,550. All units come fully equipped without optional extras, ensuring consistency across the series. This approach emphasizes exclusivity and craftsmanship over customization. As Alpina transitions into its new chapter under BMW, this XB7 Manufaktur celebrates the brand’s legacy of blending performance with refined comfort.
