Ram TRX Returns with SRT Badges and 777-HP Supercharged V-8

Ram has confirmed the comeback of its flagship performance pickup after a one-year hiatus. The 2027 Ram 1500 TRX arrives with SRT branding and a supercharged V-8 engine producing 777 horsepower. This model revives the high-output variant that previously dominated the full-size truck segment. The announcement aligns with ongoing demand for gasoline-powered high-performance off-road trucks.

The supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 receives tuning upgrades to achieve the 777-horsepower rating. This figure surpasses the 702 horsepower of the prior TRX’s Hellcat engine. SRT badges appear on the exterior, distinguishing the model from standard Ram 1500 variants. Reinforced off-road components maintain the truck’s capability in challenging terrain.

The previous-generation TRX ended production after the 2024 model year as Ram transitioned its 1500 lineup to twin-turbo inline-six engines. The return of the supercharged V-8 addresses market feedback favoring the higher-output option. The 777-horsepower output secures the TRX’s position as the most powerful production gasoline pickup available. Acceleration and towing specifications remain consistent with the model’s established performance envelope.

Ram positions the revived TRX against direct rivals like the Ford F-150 Raptor R. The SRT designation integrates the truck into Stellantis’s performance division alongside Dodge models. Billeted suspension, wide fenders, and 35-inch tires continue as standard equipment. Interior features include specialized seating and instrumentation tailored for high-performance use.

Availability begins with the 2027 model year. The enhanced powertrain and branding updates reflect Ram’s strategy to sustain leadership in the ultra-high-performance truck category. Production occurs at the Sterling Heights assembly plant in Michigan. The model reinforces the brand’s commitment to internal-combustion performance variants amid expanding electrification efforts.
